TACOMA — I was in a bar in Puerto Vallarta two months ago, and so was John Clayton, over there in the corner on a flat screen that hung from the ceiling.
ESPN’s NFL expert is everywhere. He might be in your family room in the fall on ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown or on your car radio every Saturday. Clayton hosts a three-hour show on ESPN 710 Seattle before co-hosting a national show in the afternoon.

Renton police are searching for a 57-year-old man who went missing Tuesday after his wife dropped him off to catch a bus.
James R. Bertalotto, who suffers from dementia, lives at the Benson Heights retirement facility in Kent. He was last seen by his wife at 7 p.m. outside the Sherri’s restaurant at 1820 Maple Valley Highway in Renton after she dropped him off so he could catch a bus back to Benson Heights.

Saturday is the deadline for registering by mail or online to vote in King County’s first vote-by-mail primary election next month. But new Washington voters can register in-person until Aug. 10 at the county’s Elections office, at 919 S.W. Grady Way in Renton.
There are many contested races and we encourage you to register. In particular is the King County Executive post.

What is National Night Out?
It’s America’s Night Out Against Crime!
The “26th Annual National Night Out” (NNO), a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2009.
Last year’s National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, over 37 million people participated in National Night Out 2008.

Renton police say they’ve received reports of con artists going door to door, pretending to be utility bill collectors for the city and trying to collect money.

RENTON, Wash. — The state Department of Transportation wants approval for what promises to be a noisy project off of Interstate 405 in Renton.
The project would remove a bridge that crosses over the interstate, as well as build a new freeway on-ramp. But in order to do so, WSDOT wants permission to make more noise than is legally allowed for 319 nights.
