Seattle’s controversial panhandling law ready for council vote

You may ask yourself, why are we talking about something in Seattle?

Well for starters, have you noticed that the panhandling keeps getting worse here in the City of Renton?

We know there are people out there struggling to make ends meet but many of the panhandlers right here in Renton have been asking for the same bus fare for two plus years!

This didn’t used to be an issue here in our town.  It seems like now that we are a “big city” we are getting more and more “big city” problems.  Crime, out of control spending, higher taxes and panhandling.

Renton Woman charged for running Brothel in Seattle

SEATTLE — Prosecutors have filed charges against a woman accused of running a brothel out of an apartment unit in the city’s Belltown neighborhood.

Kaiyana N. McCloud, 28, faces three counts of second-degree prostitution promotion for incidents that occurred between July and September of this year.

Police believe McCloud ran a brothel out of an apartment unit in the 200 block of Wall Street, according to the statement of probable cause.

Seattle may allow homeowners to build backyard cottages

The Seattle City Council wants to allow homeowners in all Seattle neighborhoods to build detached cottages as big as 800 square feet in their backyards. While such “accessory units” already are permitted in South Seattle, the idea has met resistance in North Seattle.

Joel Tufel designed his Maple Leaf backyard with privacy in mind, and his walkways wind through the foliage to a private workshop, where he makes sculptures.
