As we predicted, Adam Smith is now a “yea” vote for Health Care “reform”.
Continue to call the numbers from our previous posts. He needs to hear from you. This bill will hurt Seniors and will have a direct impact on Medicare.
We also expect that Brian Baird (D-Vancouver) will vote yes for this mess of a bill as well. He’s got nothing to lose as he’s already announced that he’s not running for office again.

WASHINGTON — Rep. Adam Smith announced Saturday that he will back the House’s historic vote on health reform scheduled for Sunday, leaving Rep. Brian Baird as the sole member of Washington’s congressional delegation who remains undecided.
Smith, D-Tacoma, voted for the original House health-reform bill in November with great reluctance. But he said the Senate-based version of the bill that the House is now weighing controls costs more effectively and is a better piece of legislation.

As if our Seniors didn’t have enough to worry about, now the CBO has announced that the health care “reform” will push Medicare into the red.
That money has to be made up somewhere. Get ready for prescriptions to go up and service levels to decline.

Caterpillar is a well-known American company that employs tens of thousands of employees.
This health care “reform” plan is going to hurt America. Period. Call your representative and tell them to vote no on this terrible bill.
Also keep in mind that we all start paying for this plan right away and won’t see the “benefits” until at least 4 years out. Can you imagine paying for a car and not being able to drive it for 4 years? It’s absolutely ridiculous.
Dow Jones Newswires | Caterpillar Inc. said the health-care overhaul legislation being considered by the U.S. House of Representatives would increase the company’s health-care costs by more than $100 million in the first year alone.
In a letter Thursday to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and House Republican Leader John Boehner of Ohio, Caterpillar urged lawmakers to vote against the plan “because of the substantial cost burdens it would place on our shareholders, employees and retirees.”

Vice President Biden is now on record as stating “You know we’re going to control the insurance companies”. Great. Just what we need the government taking more control away from private business.
There are a lot of small businesses in the Renton. This bill is going to seriosly hurt them.
The other thing that bothers us is that business with $500,000 or less payroll will be exempt. That may seem like a lot of money but if you take that number and divide it by ten employees, that’s only $50,000 each. That is significantly less that what most City of Renton employees make.
The “Health Care Reform” bill will seriously hurt Renton businesses. Call your representatives and tell them to vote no.
