Hello,

In the interest of safety, the Issaquah School District notifies the school community when the King County Sheriff’s Office holds a public safety meeting about an offender in the local area. There will be a public safety meeting about a level-three offender tomorrow, Thursday, May 20th. Please see the information below:

Safety notification: The King County Sheriff’s Office has just sent the District notification of a public meeting at 6 p.m. tomorrow, May 20, at Newcastle City Hall in regards to a level-three offender that has moved into the Newcastle area. The offender, Joseph Hemmert, resides in the 7000 block of 122nd Avenue Southeast (just outside the Issaquah School District boundaries). Sheriff’s Officers will address concerns and share safety tips during the public meeting. Hemmert was convicted of child molestation and indecent liberties. He has been known to target children between the ages of 5 and 12 and frequent locales where children congregate. A level-three offender is most likely to reoffend. More information about Hemmert is online. Immediate questions should be addressed to the King County Sheriff’s Office Offender Community Awareness Program at 206-205-7948.

Thank you.
Mike Deletis,
Principal
